trying to quit smoking

I would suggest trying to slow down a little first. I don't really agree with nictoine products, they just seem like crutches and gimmicks. People don't need help, they need self-control. Don't give in to your cravings. Who owns you, the nicotine?

I completely agree.

If you cut down on how many you have for a while until you get use to having hardly any that helps a lot.

I did that too.

And it's best to try to do it cold turkey bc that shows you have stronger will power

which you will need plenty of it if you want to stay off the cigs.

well a friend of mine hates black licorice, so everytime he had an urge to smoke he would just suck on that. Then the black licorice taste or whatever you hate is associated with smoking.

how well did that work for him?

Hello. I am currently trying to stop smoking as well. I gout around 5 persons to stop with me, se we will be able to bitch at each other ;P

I am now contemplating what appears to be my last pack of cigarettes.

One of my friends actually smoked like a human chimney for one day, three packs -- that turned him off from cigarettes so much he quit. I am not really convinced that doing this would be nice, but you know.

What I will really miss actually will be smoking while waiting for the bus. I just need to find something to take my mind off it.

OH and the first big step to do, I beleive, is to stop buying them.

Then tell yourself, I won't buy any more from now on. And then the fact settles in. And when you pass a day, it really feels nice, especially if your friends are being supportive and encouraging :)

That was hard for me too, smoking it in places your use to.

I was use to doing while driving.

Or on my lunch breaks from work.

I tried doing what your friend did too.

It did help a bit with making me want much less then I use to have.

Cus it started making me feel sick. So then I started cutting down dramtically to help me to stop.
