JohnsonBox
If they are legal, and then, a private agency can run court? How unpleasant being tracked by a private detective is! Your privacy would be relentlessly offended no doubt... I don't know whether or not private detectives are legal in the US or UK or Canada or Australia... But hey, it seems the things are legal there in my imagination. I don't know how you guys can accept such things...

You get to live in the guest house of a rich estate, drive a Ferrari and scope lots of pretty girls. Seriously though. Private agencies don't run court. They can take photos of you in public spaces and track your movements through public space but they can't trespass of private property. PIs are mostly used to catch cheating spouses or to catch people who claim to be injured and receive disability payments yet go off for a weekend ski vacation. Don't hink of a private detective as the same as a police detective. Think of them as hired spies/stalkers/paparazzi for jealous wives to catch their cheating husbands. The are still bound within the confines of our privacy laws. They are just really good at snooping people, they are not like the police.
Fred Derf Veteran Posted June 10, 2004 Veteran Share Posted June 10, 2004 I should also state that I've never seen a PI in real life. I've never known anybody to hire a PI nor I have known anybody to have been followed by a PI. The entirety of my knowledge of PIs come from TV. Anybody remember Simon & Simon? Fred Derf Veteran Posted June 10, 2004 Veteran Share Posted June 10, 2004 Of course. I loved that big ass 4x4 truck... I loved all the gadgets that Rick purchased from Carlos. Downtown Brown was cool too (the same actor as Venus Flytrap from WKRP in Cincinnati).
