SMeK Veteran Posted June 10, 2004 Veteran Share Posted June 10, 2004 well not all of us use xp :) could either "use another OS" be added to the poll on the front page?
matt74441
Well I think that its a pretty valid question, seeing as to how Microsoft has been working on SP2 since late 2002. With all of the security problems that have been popping up lately, I'd certainly like to know if they managed to get everything working properly. matt74441
:| has it been that long?!That has flown by! I'm pretty sure its late 2002. SP1 came out in late August or early September of that year.
SMeK Veteran Posted June 10, 2004 Author Veteran Share Posted June 10, 2004 /back on topic the post is valid, but those of us that dont use xp will give a wrongful vote if we can only choose yes or no if you want it to be more successfull we need an option for those of us that dont use xp
matt74441
But in all fairness, the poll is about whether Microsoft got SP2 right or not. Neobond isn't going to just stick in an "other" option for the other OSes. You also don't have to vote.
john smith 1924 Veteran Posted June 10, 2004 Veteran Share Posted June 10, 2004 # Don't complain about lack of options. You've got to pick a few when you do multiple choice. Those are the breaks.# Feel free to suggest poll ideas if you're feeling creative. I'd strongly suggest reading the past polls first. # This whole thing is wildly inaccurate. Rounding errors, ballot stuffers, dynamic IPs, firewalls. If you're using these numbers to do anything important, you're insane. Just a poll guys...! Yes, SP2 has been in development since SP1 was released. Just like SP5 for Windows 2000 has been in development since SP4 came out. Microsoft never "stops" or pauses work on their updates; they're always looking for more bugs. As for getting everything working, I read about that new vulnerability in IE6 today and decided I'd try the example exploit on my SP2 system. It didn't work ;) I don't know if it's SP2 or if it's my security settings or some combination, but it didn't work.
