Web server behind router on ATT BB?

Question

mrogers

I want to set up a server for my web site behind a standard Linksys 4-port router on ATT broadband cable. Will this work? Is there anything I need to be aware of? For example, what if ATT assigns a dynamic IP? That would change the router's IP, right? I know there's programs that will update your DNS if your COMPUTER'S IP changes, but what about the router? Thanks for the help!

As I understand it, it is the rest of the world's DNS you have to worry about updating. Having a web server on DHCP may not work as well as you would like.

just ask ATT for a static IP, should not be that much per month to get it.
