+unabatedshagie Subscriber¹ Posted June 11, 2004 Subscriber¹ Share Posted June 11, 2004 I would like to know after the last post date on a topic what time do you consider a post "dead" or old. 7 days? a month? Is there some unwritten law which dictates it or is everyone different? Me personally the latest one I have dragged up was from a week previously. Don't ask me why I want to know, probably because i have been up all night finishing my final assessment for college and the lack of sleep has made me mental. :)
Redestium
Please use more descriptive thread titles in the future. I would say 2 weeks would be the limit of bumping an old thread.
Apollo
i would say a month but i also think that it depends on the subject
zhangm Supervisor Posted June 11, 2004 Supervisor Share Posted June 11, 2004 When your post starts to resemble this one (https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?act=ST&f=45&t=173244), its safe to declare it dead... Usually if its had only a few replies, and is off the front page, there isn't much chance of it being revived.
+unabatedshagie Subscriber¹ Posted June 11, 2004 Author Subscriber¹ Share Posted June 11, 2004 Ok the topic title sucks. Perhaps if this thread doesn't die (like most of mine seem to do :)) a mod could change it. I'd hate to have to read my assessment if I can't even describe a title of a topic correctly. Naruco
Depends on subject... Some can be "dead" straight away... :spam:
Colin-uk Veteran Posted June 11, 2004 Veteran Share Posted June 11, 2004 me personally, about 2 weeks
Wannes
i would think 30 days as that is the forum cut off display date. :) this would also be better in Site & Forum Issues
giga Veteran Posted June 11, 2004 Veteran Share Posted June 11, 2004 Well sometimes a thread can be just 'lost'. Like some people either forget about it or a mod...cough...throws it away. ;) But for dead...like real dead..I would say about 2-3 weeks.
Hum
 I guess a topic is good whenever a new person needs it.
Wannes
 I guess a topic is good whenever a new person needs it. yes but then when a reply get's giving mods will lock it when the thread starter started it for example 30 days ago.
forster
Whenever it is missing from the first few pages of a category, if you have to search back more than 2 pages for something to do, then you really need to get out of the house. And yes, the thread title is crap (N)
