They go away over time, but they form by constant rubbing on that section of skin. I used to get them on the palms of my hand in the summer, and it was from riding my bike. If its on your foot, get bigger shoes.

Never had a callus? :blink:

You must have lived a very sheltered life so far... :p

Nope, I do a lot of sports like biking, swimming and running but I don't get them :blink:

Go to your local drugstore and purchase a pumise (?) stone or callus shaver.

It will help remove them. :yes:

pumise works good. Soak your callused area in hot water for a few minutes (long shower). Then rub with pumise and alot of the calloused skin will rub off. Repeat for a few days and they will be gone.

Calluses = good. Any guitar player can tell you that. I have some massive ones on my feet since I walk barefoot a lot, but they just help you soft skin from getting harmed.

Calluses = good.

This is correct. A callus is an indication that you are frequently rubbing the skin in that area against something, and the body has produced the callus to protect itself. If you sand the callus down and then continue the rubbing, your skin will get hurt and could possibly even form an open wound. I assume that you knew this, and that the calluses are remnants of a time when you were rubbing against the skin in that area a lot, but not anymore. Otherwise, you'll have very nasty problems with the skin in that area.
