Azadre
Was it worth it to go through the years of residency and grad school to get where you are? Were you able to maintain a relationship with a significant other? I want to learn more about becoming a surgeon and I figure asking is the easiest to learn. hadiz
I don't think there are many doctors or surgeons on here :s Although I'm sure someone has a relative that's in that sorta field.

ig88
I have a relative who just got done with her residency. She worked very hard for the better part of 10 years but now shes done and will start making a butt load of $. She was able to maintain a relationship and eventually married her husband while in med school. They got an appartment while she was in school and it was like she was going to work every day. She is not a normal chick though. Very smart of course, but also has the right personality. I've never heard her complain once about how hard it was or how much time she had to put into it. I know resedency has been hard on her cuz of all the long hours but I think she'd tell you she'd do it all over again if given the choice. You have to have the grades though to even think about it. Not only do you have to have straight A's through high school and undergrad, you have to do so much other stuff, extra curicular activities and volunteering. Good luck to you. If you can get it, time will fly and then you'll be loaded.
