Lanky
Tomorow night I have my solo music performance for school. Ive never played in a concert type situation before, infact never to more than a few people. Theres gonna be lots of people there and Im not nervous at the moment and I dont plan to be nervous at the time, but thats a stupid thing to say, becuase Im shure I will be. Any way, I justed wanted to know if any fellow neowin musicians (or anyone else) have any tips to keep me calm and let me not forget my song. BTW , Im playing Keb Mo's Perpetual Blues Machine on Guitar.

beh
Once you start going, usually I forget the audience and concentrate on the music. The start is the scary part though.
Hum
 Pretend you are alone, at home. Or imagine the audience is naked.
Lycan
Dude i know how you?re feeling, had to play a small music show for a group of audiance, mainly parents... what I did was looking back in the halland concentrating on my instrument, instead of face-to-face with the people in the audiance. Peter Aziz
I have this problem with presentations, but thats because I know they're not interested in what I'm saying and its just something I HAVE to do for school, so I get nervous. In your situation, you're playing music so they'll be interested in listening to it, so dont be nervous at all.. about the naked thing, you can laugh while doing your music, so my advice is that you dont picture your audience naked.. or do it if you can control your laughs
adam.sproul
Does that actually work picturing the audience naked ?
Peter Aziz
Does that actually work picturing the audience naked ? sometimes it does.. but when all the people are staring at you like "wtf is he talking about?" then you lose interest in what you're doing and you cant even concentrate on the naked theory thing   :p
hanxuuk
Once upon a time I was a presenter, I remember my first time on the stage, on my own, I was just so nervious, I couldn't even feel my legs(luckily I could got make them move). My tip is never look at the front audience(you wont see them most of the time anyway, depend on the lights), because they will disappoint you. Try to look at the last few rows. Krudomanic
I do have one solution which I done in college when doing a presentation in front of 4 pupils which was this... picture something in your mind and focus on this something and then try to focus on whet you are doing at the same time... sounds hard but it always worked for me.. I hate nothing more than standing in front of loads of people making a total @$$ of myself... Relax take a deep breath and focus...
