Waiting for hotmail to join and increase their storage.

As long as they don't tack on one of those text advertisements on every email like Yahoo does, I'll stick with the free Hotmail if they do increase it. But if they do, I will probably have to change things. I don't like those text ads.

For 20 bucks they offer 20 gigs.....for 20 bucks hotmail offers like 20 or 30 megabytes...lol, if it werent for MSN messenger, hotmail would have about 10 active accounts.

I raised the spam defense one notch from Default to Enhanced and that has reduced my spam in hotmail to a trickle. Doesn't Yahoo have something like that?

Spam does nto count against your quota, they changed that a few weeks ago. Good too, becuase I only get about 10 legit emails a day in mine. Spam messages total about 100 a day. :pinch:

$19 a year for all that - it is a pretty darn good deal. If only they would raise attachments from 10 meg to 100 meg for the paid version.

I think 10 meg is fine for 100 meg of free space, but they have that text ad on the end of each message you send, and that is a problem.

Some of these services are coming so close to being awesome. Maybe if we just hang in there we will get one that has the right combination of things. Outside of Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail, the other services that are out there don't seem very stable and they don't seem to be all they claim. Spymac email, for instance, is a mess. Many servers reject the addresses, internal email from their web site has delivery issues, people send you mail that never gets to you, etc. Adventuremail is overwhelmed and I think I read that they don't let you attach files? This is just nuts. I'm hoping Hotmail responds with say 100 meg of free space and 10 meg attachments with no text ad. Since I can check Hotmail in Outlook Express, I will settle for that free version instead of trying Yahoo for $20, as tempted as I may be.

Yeah, 100 MB is really cool. While it would be nice to have larger attachments, it isnt possible to have more than 10mb coz theyd first have to upload it to their server, then to the recipients server, which would take a long time. Too many attachments would clutter up their servers big time.

I signed in this morning to clear out the spam and had a nice message from Yahoo saying I now have 100Mb of space. Thanks guys :)

I really like the new Interface. I bet my dad will moan about it tonight when he checks his email though! hehe
