What is the meaing of life?

Tell me all what do you think it is, this is serious, thousands of philosophers have sat up late at night thinking about this, maybe us neowinians will crack the code.

It seems we as humans would put our faith into something so simple as one number, while life appears to be much more complex.

Come all philosophers of neowin, help me understand.

How can you have an answer to a question that is unbelievably vague? It doesn't refer to anything. You can't expect an answer to a question that is flawed to start with.

Life means whatever you take it to mean. There is no evidence (other than some religious texts of dubious accuracy, given that they were written when man had little knowledge of physical phenomena that could be explained by science) that life has a "greater meaning," but rather that we were created through a series of physical and biological processes to no particular end. If that is true, and I believe it is, then you must decide the meaning of your life for yourself.

Thank you all, in this short time, I have realised that indeed my question is flawed, and I think I have found my answer.

When people ask for a meaning of life, they are asking for life's purpose, justification, or goal -- not, a "meaning" in the sense in which words have meaning. This is why responses such as 'life can't have a meaning, it's not a word' or 'look it up in a dictionary' are fallacious or spurious.

Life is a multi-faceted concept with no simple definition, in part because the word is often used in an intentionally open-ended way, as exemplified by phrases such as "eternal life", "artificial life", and "extraterrestrial life". In fact, WordNet identifies fourteen different senses of the word "life" and the Longman Web Dictionary enumerates thirty-five.

That is an easy answer if you're a Christian; to serve God, spread His Word and multiply (<- who can argue with that?).

To me, the meaning of life is to explore.

Good answer. I'll agree with that too.

For that very reason, this is why I despise religion I need more of an answer than that, I cannot put my faith into something with no more of an explanation, than "because thats how it is".
