What is the meaing of life?

Foub, I'm sorry to sell you that, in many dictionaries there are many many different defintions to life, and thats just a dictionary, a dictionary doesn't think, it defines, it outlines, you must look beyound that outline.

You're referring to death, only in a sketchy manner.

That's one way to interpret it. But I was kind of going for the Buddhist state of Nirvana. Having no external forces/needs making you do anything. Once there it's much easier to see things clearly. It's something to strive for, and I like to think it's as good a meaning as any.

Now I definitely sound like a relgious fanatic.

Tell me all what do you think it is, this is serious, thousands of philosophers have sat up late at night thinking about this, maybe us neowinians will crack the code.

So you can't tell God that he is wrong when he is passing judgement on you. If you didn't live, then you could say that you never did certain things. :p

There is no meaning. We were put on this planet by accident. We were never meant to be. Just like Ebola was never meant to be. The actual meaning is we are an accident. Every single last one of us right down to the lowest scum on this planet. All failures in the end. Because we are the virus. Ebola x 100. We destroy planets slowly, with our knowledge. :).

Enough with the whole smith act, now how do we know that Ebola has no purpose, it may be mal to us but I believe that everything has a purpose, and, and if I may bring a little matrix into this, if something has no purpose it will not exist. Who knows Ebola might be our savior in desguise.

my own personal theory to the meaning of life, or at least the meaning for my life...is to just have good experiences and enjoy who i am and that i'm alive. its a simple little theory but it suits me well. life is made up of experiences, some are good, some are bad and you learn from every single one.

Like i've said before the purpose for many is to question, and learn. Life is one large school, one you only graduate when you leave this world.

lol, what i meant by that is that sounds like agent smiths speech in the first movie, about humans being a virus.

Thats from the movie the matrix if you live under a rock :)

To know the "answer" to "life, the universe, and everything" is "42" is to not know the question itself, that is, the question from which "42" is actually derived because the question and the answer are mutually exclusive, so that to know the question that leads to the answer "42" and to also know the answer is "42" is to cancel out the universe. Clearly, this thread asks for something that is not the question that answers with "42" because now all who have read thus far have thought that "the meaning of life" could be "42," and since the universe still exists, someone must have miscarried some digit way back near the beginning of the thread. Too bad Adams isn't here to clear this up for us.

You're a Buddhist? I don't mind Buddhism and although I know very little about it I know some and found it to be very interesting. I don't think you sound like a religious fanatic at all.

ok think about it billions of people of pondered this, and yet not a single one has come up with an answer to satisfy more then a few thus my answer is

life has no meaning

i can get into the details of my answer, but then the're make me go back to the big room with the padded walls

Your body is just a device that your genes use to pass itself onto the next generation.

Life just happens, for no reason, like everything in nature.

There has to be a reason or purpose for a thing to exist? I hate that logic.

Why? Why should there be a reason or purpose? They aren't required.

Life exist because it happened. Things are the way they are becasue it happened that way

or it couldn't have happened otherwise.

And therefore, life has no meaning.
