Gmail going public.

Recommended Posts

Gmail may be done with the bug report stage but I do not think it is going to go public in 2 days. I emailed them about a feature they should add about allow you to insert a contact into a composed email without copying and pasting. So I got the following reply back:

Hello Aaron,

Thank you for your suggestion regarding the contact list -- we are

forwarding it to the appropriate team. We certainly appreciate hearing

from Gmail users and encourage you to continue to let us know how we can

improve the Gmail experience.

You might be interested to hear that we are working on many upcoming

features, including the following:

- Automatic forwarding of your email to another account

- Plain HTML version of Gmail

- Import/export Contacts

We hope you enjoy Google's approach to email.

Sincerely,

The Gmail Team

I am using Gmail and love it.  But I just have a suggestion.  There is no

way to access the contacts and add more than 1 at a time when composing an

email.  So I suggest that you add someway of doing so.  It will improve

gmail quite a bit.  I enjoy gmail and will continue using it to promote

its use.

From this I have determined that it is not going released in 2 days time. It takes time to put these in place and then to test them.

Hi all there,

Now you dont have to wait more.

In just two days from now GMAIL is going public.

All the changes it seems is done in GMAIL.

And yesterday the YAHOO's 100MB indicates that time has come to go officially public.

So dont panic for invites

Wait for two more days.

RUBBISH !

Anyone have a guess on how hard the gmail servers will be stressed and for how long when it goes public?

Let's hope its not like the national do not call registry and the whole thing just go BOOM. Think its going to be slower after it goes pub?

It might be slow, but I think the people at gmail know a bit what to expect so they will be prepared. But for me there won't be no rush when it goes public. If the gmail site is very slow the first days, I'll just wait to sign up.

I'm afraid this is true.....

but still, would like them to increase their storage size

cuz 2 mbs.... it's really little

maybe looking at others, they might increase the size

hopefully

and if not, let's hope all the users change to any other server so they will have to increase it :D :D :D

They should use Bill's money to upsize the storage. That way they could set the limit to 1gigs! :woot:

You're more full of crap than a Christmas turkey. I don't think it will go public for at least a month or two. I HOPE it never goes public.

Then you turn around and say it's just speculation?

i completely agree

Lol yeah, just for the hell of it, its **** anyway :/. I might offer an email service for private users, maybe 100-1000MB email accounts, the domain will be email@x1.cc, but I'll have to think about it, and it'll be strickly limited ;)

"Gmail's Reporting Stage is over now"

The thread posted last week gave me an idea that yahoo will offer more than 50 mb.

I was right yahoo is now 100mb.

The thread reads

"Hmmm... On my Gmail account, It appears that the "Report a Bug" feature link is not there anymore, It seems that The Reporting a bug stage is over now, this might be a hint that Gmail Maybe possibly be released this comming next week or at the very end of this month, not to sure..

What do you all think? Notice any bugs still or appearance problems or suggestions? And along with them sending out all these invites to people... "

So the clue is more than enough.

Hey, I got the "Report a Bug" feature link".
