Cannot access neowin

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I seems I cannot access neowin from work for some odd reason and I cannot pin point where the error is.

All I get is a 404 from our proxy server like the connection is dead but I can do a dnslookup and that works fine.

Any guesses what it could be?

there was a change in the server config recently to help with load balancing, I believe. This isn't my area of expertise, so I'm not 100% on it.

I think they might have fixed the "Open Port" problem, and the only port you need open is 80. What happens if you try to go to neowin's IP address instead of the domain name?

No other ports than 80 are required to visit neowin (we used 8080 for a little while)

Maybe your boss blocked neowin :)

neowin? decrease productivity? get outta here. :p

It's true! Some people come here to read and post on the forums, just before they do something really important like work on their website or work related, then time passes by and next thing you know. You messed up!!!

I have been through hell to sort this out at work today.

It is not blocked whatsoever!

The error message I get is

10060 connection timeout.
