simonallison
Hi, I seems I cannot access neowin from work for some odd reason and I cannot pin point where the error is. All I get is a 404 from our proxy server like the connection is dead but I can do a dnslookup and that works fine. Any guesses what it could be? bangbang023 Veteran Posted June 16, 2004 Veteran Share Posted June 16, 2004 i believe port 8081 needs to be opened now too.
simonallison
any reason for this?
bangbang023 Veteran Posted June 16, 2004 Veteran Share Posted June 16, 2004 there was a change in the server config recently to help with load balancing, I believe. This isn't my area of expertise, so I'm not 100% on it.
Frank
I think they might have fixed the "Open Port" problem, and the only port you need open is 80. What happens if you try to go to neowin's IP address instead of the domain name?
Redmak Administrators Posted June 16, 2004 Administrators Share Posted June 16, 2004 No other ports than 80 are required to visit neowin (we used 8080 for a little while) Maybe your boss blocked neowin :)
Joel
That would suck. Luckily, I'm in control of my firewall at work. :p
