Should I get this tattooed on my shoulder?

i really wish neowin had an older section like most other forums im on do..

How would it be policed though?

Either something that anyone could say 'I'm 18 or 21' or signing up to some pay thing to prove your age which I don't think goes with Neowin.

I'm happy with it the way it is, if people want adult stuff there's a whole interweb full of it, this is mainly a tech site after all.

If you like it, then get it. If you're not sure, don't even think about it, because you're reconsidering it and that's bad if you're getting something permanent. Heck, I wasn't thinking when I got mine, I just liked the idea of my nickname on me, so I got it. I love it now, and most people (although they call me crazy) like it as well.

Cheers

if you have to ask, then you shouldn't get it.

Agreed.

And you said yourself that it's permenant, which is obviously true. Forever. You'll always have a stupid pheonix on your shoulder. Big nono!!

it looks cool

but tatooes are toxic into your body like cigarettes

no they aren't

i wish people wouldn't make stupid comments about things they know nothing about.

if you get inked at a clean sterile shop and follow their instructions you'll have no problem

the ink is not toxic.

Indeed... :)

Though try avoiding it unless you are 100% sure... it's not like it's a week's thing.

My first tattoo was designed by a good friend of mine while we were sitting in American History class my junior year of high school. It's a nice tribal design that at the time had no meaning. For two years I carried the design around. Over time it began to develop its own meaning. I guess in a way it symbolizes a part of my life. When I graduated high school I got it inked on my upper arm.

Tattoos should have a personal meaning. Don?t get one to get one; those are the kind that you regret. Whatever you end up getting should be something that evokes a personal feeling every time you look at it. The next one I?m designing is a Celtic tribal variation of my mom and my dad's family crests. Put some time and effort into it.

Any design can have a meaning but it needs to be relevant to you. A Phoenix has a meaning but does it really mean something personal to you? Think is through man otherwise you'll regret it. I've had mine for 8 years and never once have I wished it wasn't there and every time I look at it I think about a fun and pivotal part of my life. A part of my life that if I could re-live, would be exactly the same.

Just my thoughts.

how are tattoos forever? don't skin cells died, fall off, and get replaced by newer ones?

Yes, top skin cells. But the tatoo is tatooed under those top skin cells...

I think its cool. I would ask the tattoo guy if he thinks that he could spice it up alittle. Most are great artists and can make a simple pic look tight as hell.

Nothing personal dude, but this tattoo is ugly as hell and it reminds me the Nazi emblems from WWII. Personally I don?t like tattoos but if you?re going to get one you better look for something differen:yes:yes:

i have one tattoo at the moment and i am planning on getting a second in a month or two (exact date is august 14th)... anyways, if you are going to get that make sure it means something to you and think of what it will look like 20 years down the road, if you are 100% convinced that is the right thing for you to have on your body and it means something very important to you then yes get it... if it is something you think is "cool" then you may not think the same down the road...

No, no. It is indeed you that does not get it. These inks are non toxic. You could eat them and they would have no adverse effects, besides tasting bad. Do the words non-toxic not register in your head? In fact nearly every ink out there is not only non-toxic, but organic as well.

The only dangers in tattooing are if you use a place that is untrustworthy, and doesn't have stringent sterilization. In that case you aren't being harmed by the ink either, but by things such as hepatitis. Think, before you speak.
