ThunderRiver
I presume you have passed your computerized test... What kind of critical driving error did you make? I remember when I was in Texas, I did beautiful on parallel parking, but later on she said I was coasting and that I should always put my foot on the gas padel, which I didn't. So I failed The second time, the instructor said I didnt turn my head and look around when I was making turns. He was even yelling at me when I was making a turn on the road. Later on, I argued with him and told him that I did turn my head and look around. and he said "you only did at stop sign".. blah blah. anyway, I got my license. Having a female instructor that gives you driving test does suck
dior_addict
haha. i panicked bcause I was waiting to turn left. But it was a very narrow straight and whatnot. So I waited there for two light changes, and didn't go yet. SO the guy that was waiting behind me, drive past me and cussed at me. -__- So when the light turned green, I stepped on the gas, made a left turn (instead of letting the people driving straight go first) and cut them off. My fault really, shouldn't have let those road raged drivers get to me. It's my exam, so I should turn when I feel comfortable. :(

HellBender
Well, I failed. >____<I made a critical driving error, and my exam was ended immediatley. Ah, that blows. Left turn eh? Its a common mistake, dont worry about it :) My first driving test was ridiculous. I was at a 4-way intersection with a stop sign on my side and a traffic light under construction, and I saw a car coming horizontally.. I looked and saw a stop sign on his side too, so I let off the brakes and I was about to hit the gas before the instructor goes "whoa, stop!" Turns out that since the traffic light was under construction, they had taped a piece of cardboard over the stop sign. WTF? I can't see the piece of cardboard from my side! When I got back to the DMV I burst into tears of frustration  It was kinda sad because that was the 2nd to last intersection in the test, and i had not had a SINGLE error the entire test. Even the DMV guy said that he knew I knew how to drive but he couldnt pass me..
dior_addict
Wow. Sorry to hear that. I'm taking it again in 14 days, but at a different DMV. And this time, I'm going to drive around that area, and study every stop sign, traffic light, and GRR! I want to pass. :D

Original_
Wow, that sucks dude. Glad I never had to do a driving test at the DMV. I took driver's ed after school for a month or so - and my instructor was cool. He was like "Today we are going to progress to rural driving (instead of neighborhood around the high school). In order to do that, I want you to hop up on the freeway here and drive 5 miles." I was like WTF - it was fun though. Personally, I think that if you are going to let road rage like that happen on your DRIVING TEST that you shouldn't be allowed to get a license - EVER (or at least a year). QuantumTrickery
Best advice I can give anyone for passing the test: Go when its extremely crowded and its really hot outside. Keep your air conditioning off and having a dark colored car helps. These people that give the exam don't get paid enough to put up with much of anything. Back when I did this, he had me drive around one block and pull into a parking place. No fancy maneuvers, no special tricks, just the exam givers extreme need to get out of the molten lava that is your car!
uniacidz
For the love of god, whatever you do, shoulder check on every turn you make. Make sure it's obvious too like move your entire head and not just your eyes. Drive like a granny and stick to the limits. Dont' worry about the people honking at you. Just drive like a granny and you're fine! :) LOLOLOLOLOLOL I Agree Happened to me, didnt emphasise turning my head and went a bit too fast, didnt slow down enough at the intersection so when the lights turned yellow, had to break a bithard. Emphasise the head turning, stop at every Stop sign and keep looking and looking and turning the head. Good luck. EDIT, just saw you failed. Oh well, try agin and practice. QuantumTrickery
He's already passed the reading portion. Its completely worthless for the driving portion. Get out there and practice. Take it slow, look over ever action you take. Have someone with you to critisize everything you do.
