Questions about WinXP...

Recommended Posts

Hi, i'm using Windows XP RTM build 2600 and i have some questions:

-What means "RTM"?

-What are the diferences between the RTM version and the final one that will be released in october?

-The RTM version has to be activated?

-Is this a trial version or something like that?

-It has an expiration date?

Thanks.

I'm from Argentina, so i can't speak engish very well.:D

RTM = Release to manufacturers

the code itself is the same as what will be released october 25

The activation is Bios dependent if you have Dells OEM version and a new Dell BIOS then no activation otherwise you must activate, there is a 120day trial which is the same base code but has a time limit from the first boot. that should answer it i guess
