If no more Microsoft, what about Windows

Recommended Posts

Do you think you scare me?

I'd switch to Mac, if all the Mac fanboys would loose there arrogance. But that isn?t happening any time soon.

I don't think I scare you. But I think I prove you're a liar and none of your posts mean anything since no one knows whether you're lying or not! Who knows if you're not a desparate "mac fanboy" who wants a mac so bad! Well, ask Baller to buy you one since "he's such a nice person, you can't judge him on 1 thing he does."

Oh, btw

a) change your sig cus you don't deserve to be a Canadian:whistle:e:

b) please learn how to spell, high school drop out who has his own company! I don't think a owner of a company would spell "their" "there":rolleyes:s:

c) i'm gonna time you this time just to see how long it takes for you to ask mod "please close this thread!"

Wow this guy was asking a simple question u don't need to flame him.

Any way, first it wont happen for a while. But i think they will take to grave or sell it to another comapny. No open-source for them IMO

i think that microsoft is more than a business that is trying to earn money. if something does go wrong, i think that they will release windows under some sort of altered open source license.

but in all seriousness, i doubt that microsoft will fall or lose even 3-5% in the next 5-10 years. lets say that everyone switched tomorrow, microsoft would still have $53 billion+ in the bank + bill gates' personal $46 billion+.

this money should give them a lot of time to get customers back.

And, Office and Windows are MS's strongest products. Having no update for 3~5 (6 or 7 or 8?) years surely affects MS somehow! Microsoft, apparently, is trying to build a strong and reliable OS. We all know this isn't happening in the first try. I don't see how better Longhorn will be for its first version. It surely will after a few updates or SPs tho
that is true for microsoft as well as apple, remember OS X when it was released?

Exactly another of my point. People seem to put too much expectation on Longhorn. It will be good, but it takes time. If they think as soon as Longhorn comes out, every other OS is gonna die, then they're wrong. But before Longhorn comes out, Microsoft surely gives its customers a chance to switch - by switching I don't mean to Mac only, Linux too!

i think microsoft would take windows down with them, people would then just start using linux if they have a pc or maybe mac os x would have a "pc version".

It seems that Microsoft still don't understand the concept of open source eh? Is it so complicated. But I doubt that OSX will be ported to x86 anytime soon - even if MS did die. But Linux will, no doubt, get better with time.

No, it's not to concept of "open-source" that Microsoft doesn't understand, it's the messages and other stuff that they put in the Windows source code that makes it look suspicious. For example, [Look at my sig]

Maybe one day Mac will take over cos that's what all Mac Users want

Yeah, all three hundred or so of them would make quite the difference.

Please...Microsoft probably makes more cash selling keyboards and mice than Apple does annually. You don't have to worry about Microsoft going away any time soon. And besides...didn't a certain company bail another fruit-related company out of pending financial doom awhile back? I just can't remember...

One word for their mouse and keyboard: suck! And for your information, there are more than 300 mac users - just in case you're some elementary and don't know how to count:rolleyes:yes:

And as coolme said, you never know - if I was to start a thread discussing "If no more Twin Towers/World Trade Center, what about the US financial" 5 years ago, you would of said it was impossible.

Read over the thread and you will know what we're discussing!

Newsflash: There are arrogant Windows, Linux, DOS, and Typewriter users too!:rolleyes:s:

Actually, it's a good thing you are not switching to Mac anytime soon, because if you defended Mac like you defend Windows right now you would make us Mac users look bad.

Thank You for not using a Mac.

Well, since you obviously needed attention by starting a thread such as this, I thought I'd chime in. And while there may be a few more than 300 mac users, it's still a paltry number in comparison to Wintel users.

Yes, Microsoft makes crappy keyboards and mice...sad thing is, they are still a hell of a lot better than the default piece-of-sh!t mice than ship with that $3k G5 you're dreaming about. Ironic?

Back on topic...Microsoft could float along nicely running on their -cash reserves-...they don't have to worry about putting systems out the door, all they have to worry about is people buying new PCs, which they always are. The general populace doesn't care what OS they are using...most of them aren't tech-geeks like the majority of sites such as this. They have more pressing things to care about, so you won't see people protesting in the streets because XP is a few years old. Apple, however, is consistently selling below expectations on most of their desktop lines. The G5 hasn't been flying off the shelves, no matter how pretty all you drones think it is. Any company that needs to limp along relying on the sales of a music player isn't all that important in the global scheme of things. Now, go back to licking your G5 pics...mow a few more hundred lawns, and you might be able to afford one.

Oh, I'm pretty sure you guys can handle that quite well enough on your own. You don't need anyone elses help to look like a bunch of deluded, egotistical choads in desperate need of something to feel good about themselves.

So, my post count isn't high enough to know a fanboy when I see one? Or to know that the macs I've owned in the past were overrated pieces of crap? Or that this is my 3rd screenname on here since 2001?

Some sheep just can't finish what they start I guess.

Well not as high as mine to see who's in love with our lovely PC defender area91! And sorry, I only have one screenname since I've never got banned and am confident about my name!

Another point: I know exactly how to stay on the topic instead of starting mindless flaming like some kids         and I see you like rolling your eyes!

Different post, different reply. Is that a hard concept for you to grasp? My first post was to you, the second was to someone else? Or do I need to sketch it out with crayons and fax it to you, genius?

:rolleyes:s:

OMG that made me lose all respect for you. Microsoft and Logitec are the world leaders on that field and Microsoft has been quite innovative on that field too. First to use scroll wheel, first to use tilt wheel, first to use acceptable wire-less mice, first to create "natural" keyboards, first to use "dual optical" mice and so on... What has apple been doing? Over expensive badly designed mice and keyboards made only for good looks and single button mice?

uh... if ms goes down, then yes, windows will one day grind to a halt. windows is closed source, and even if they were able to give the source code to a company before they "disappeared", it would take forever to understand. the heirs of windows would probably dump it in the trash bin, and one day 20 years from now, windows would be a collector's item; no one would use it for anything more than to laugh and reminisce.

Oh, cute. So, since I don't roll with the BS that the little Mac fanboys puke out, I'm lumped in with the Balmer kid. Interesting concept. And quite the brilliant personal attack on someone who's not in here to defend himself. One question...have you always been this bright, or is this the result of a head injury?

And yeah to gwadflesh, please fax to me! (And I can post my opinion even your post isn't to me! Free country! Even downloading music is *free and legal)
