bkellner
I think I've finally figured out what I want to do with my life. I will create a market shipping high quality american products to the lesser fortunate UK people. I will ship exactly thirty boxes of Lucky Charms and thirty cases of Mountain Dew (ten of regular, ten of code red, ten of livewire.) It will cost you only about $50,000 USD. Remember, they stopped shipping these products through the 'official' lines, so they MUST be banned products. This is strictly through black market lines. I would like all unmarked bills in ONE DOLLAR increments, and rolled up and placed inside of 5,000 slim jim cans. I would like the slim jim cans delivered to my 'alternative' address in columbia where it will be processed and put back on the street as drug money which will fund terrorist activites like buying camels to ride to the airport. randomnut
Also i think that it was something to do with Mountain Dew contained Quinoline Yellow (spelling?) for the colour, which causes cancer, and whoever controls the food regulations (government?) got all ****y about it. Then again ive seen recently that soft drnks here contain that same chemical, so BRING IT BACK!

Yazoo
I remember it getting banned on the news in 80's. It contained some chemicals that caused cancer or damaged brain cells. Similar to Cokes tap water scandal recently. Can't find any details of this anywhere so it could just be an urban legend. Personally I think it contains additives that cause addiction, posts in this thread would warrant that. UK has very strict standards on food stuffs, unlike America. EnjoyHIC
Do they have Mello Yello in the UK... it tastes similar to Mt Dew. What about Josta, what ever happen to Josta (in the US)
lara_rose
Yes i used to love mountain dew, i still remember the packaging, green bottle with red lettering, anyways after they took it off the shelves it was horrible not being able to buy it anymore. The same way with Liptonice, lemon tea? I just thought everything sucked in UK, always taking away the good stuff. But hey life goes on right, then on my first visit to toronto to see my bf, i found they have both mountain dew AND Liptonice over there, i thought wow, fantastic...gonna go mad now..but you know what? its not so great anymore. I guess i outgrew my teenage eating habits along with my taste for chemical laden, funny coloured ,sugar infested fizzy water.. wonder why i thought it was so great??
