XPC in My Accord

Recommended Posts

I have a shuttle XPC SB62G. I want to know if any has any ideas or website resources on where i can go to find out how to put this in my car and hook up some sort of monitor to it.

What I need to know:

1. How to power the PC ( i was thinking inverter, the XPC only draws 250watts max)

2. The easiest way to hook the pc to my car speakers. (the accord has a 6disc stock cd changer w/ casset, I already have a minijack to casset tape conveter which will work but I am looking for other solutions that are a litte more tidy)

3. Best way to display the computer ( I was looking at an indash popout lcd display but dont know if they support a monitor connection, my video card, radeon 9600 supports svideo out as well)

4. Best place to mount the XPC (thinking under passenger front seat, fits well)

5. Anything else I am missing.

Thanks in advance for all the great knowledge you guys/girls will impart to me.

Ohh yeah car is a:

2001 Honda Accord EX V6 3.0 Litter VTECH engine.

im thinking about doing this too, havent really got into planning yet, but for the monitor part of it, i was thinking of using an lcd monitor with a pivot thing like an ipod has, you will probably need some extension cables for the display input, power inverters, probably go with wireless keyboard and mouse. using a touchscreen would be nice but more expensive. i would personally opt to install the xpc in the trunk, plus if u have an amp u can probably input sound into it from the pc. it would be hard to wire the monitor to it but its not impossible.

im thinking about doin this, and since i work for vzw we get a good discount on wireless internet connection over the 1xrtt network, 40-60kbps, but im waiting for vzw to release evdo nationwide(at least here in az). that would mean broadband speed in your car. (Y)
