credit card!

Bank of America VISA Credit - Never Debit. In this day of questionable database security I'd never use my debit card for online payments. The idea of someone stealing the card number from a vendors database and cleaning out my checking account are not my idea of fun, especially if I have several outstanding checks (like rent) when it happens. Sure I'm covered at my bank but the hastle of clearing up the bounced checks for rent, utilities etc. isn't easy and somewhat time consuming. VISA credit on the other hand offers very good buyer protection against theft and fraud and if someone gets hold of it online, I don't have to explain to my landlord why he shouldn't charge me the 100 dollar returned check/late fees.

care to elaborate? how did you get ripped off with ur card, and what does it being a debit card have to do with it...
