lwebster_2000
Err, have you not seen the privacy issues that have arrised? oh yeah im fully aware of this, but my personal perception on that one is that there was a big fuss kicked off about it at first, legislation has been passed or is being written to restrict what google can do with the information they collect, and people seem to now warming or if not becoming neutral to the idea of adverts based on their email text. personally as long as i know google will not be reading or selling my emails, name attatched or not, and the service is as simple as scanning the email, displaying the advert and thats it then let em do it i say - i get a kick ass email provider for free and they earn cash from sponsors. everyones a winner surely
Nathan
CSabo2, You still have to anticipate people spamming just to see if it's capable. Factor in those people who'll actually use the full terabyte, plus the number of people who use it (as in, use it for the legit purpose). You do need disk space, you can't offer a terabyte of service with 1 TB of storage in total. Lwebster - I agree full ywith you.

Gergith
i think the best way for the imap thing would be like how hotmail used to be for outlook express. where when you were viewing the folders there was a small section of the window for hotmail ads.. if google did that, it would be perfect, especially since no one would really have the mail on there own hd, it would be the oposite, the main reason being people transfering it TO gmail
