Why do people spell cool like kewl. Its the same amount of characters so its not like its a shortcut or anything.

in my opinion, its all to do with accents. Liverpudlians say cool like "Kewl" have you noticed?

i however spell it kool.. it creates an identity so everyone doesnt just say "cool" all the time, the k looks better than the c.

just my opinion on the matter

however, i cant stand slang! where words that dont even replicate the meaning are used for example one that i was told recently was "go wobble ya hed" which turned out to mean "your lying"

Alex

i used to say kool until it stopped being cool, so now i say koo on msn :p ...i spell normally on everything else though. :)

Go live in Liverpool for a day. You'll grab some serious Brain Damage.

i love this forum , started a topic about a website and ended up being about the word kewl :)

i spell kewl - kewl because in real life u never actually write the word kewl . Like u dont write sorry boss i left work early cause its cool outside , it is just a wasted word that is only used online . Therefore i spell it however i feel it should be spelt and a K looks kewler then a C .

yes i am a weirdo

"I'm going for a dog and whistle..."

That's a new one on me. Usually the last word rhymes with what you actually mean.

So for example...

Pen and ink = stink

Dog and bone = phone

Trouble and strife = wife

Pony and trap = cr4p

So what does "I'm going for a dog and whistle..." mean?

The only word I can think of (without googling or anything) that rhymes with whistle is thistle :)
