Food poisoning

Recommended Posts

ok well i feel so sick right now that i am not even going to type properly.

last night i had a chineese takeout, which my mum and stepdad ordered. all fine i thought and ate it. woke up this morning with a minor stomach ache and thought nothing of it.

half way through the day and im in crippling pain (and still am).

stop reading here if you dont like talk about bodily functions.

i seem to be half constipated and half in diahreah as i cant get any out but i know its diahreah... i have puked a few min ago and nothing apart from acid and saliva has come up.

so my appeal is, does anybody on neowin have any tips to help me bear the pain, and get through it faster?

this is really painful and i wouldn't wish it upon anybody... paiinnn.

please dont flame me or post useless replies.

Yo man, you should go to the hospital.. seriously you could die of that, my dad had this very bad awhile ago and he was almost dead... Seriously, tell your parents to take you to the hospital!

Go to the hospital..... maybe you're expericing some hepatoxicity? I mean, if your pain is that bad, there is something wrong. I would send you some of my pain meds to help you.....

I am sorry you're not feeling well.

EDIT: If it is indeed food poisoning, the quicker you act on it, the better you'll be. Don't wait! In the mean time, drink water, lots of it. This will help flush the toxins out of the liver and kidneys. You don't want failure!

For pain, try Advil if you're not allergic. Or asprin. Stay away from tylenol for now, because it will add to the toxicity of the liver, if there is any. Good luck.

See a doc at once!

Urgh, I had food poisoning about 2 years ago from a prawn sandwich. It took me 2 weeks to get over it, during which time I was seeing things and throwing up constantly. I honestly thought I was going to die. Horrible!

Get a doctor out to your house. but in the meantime, the advice I was given was to let some lemonade go flat and drink plenty of it as well as plenty of water since you will loose a lot of fluids and you will feel low in energy.

Get well soon (Y)

While I'm sorry that you got sick from that sandwhich, you should have known better and expected to get sick from eating food which smells like stale urine.

 Either stomach pumped at a hospital, or if too late for that, get an enema. Not fun, but I don't think they can do much else.

Haha I dunno what kind of prawn sandwiches you've got in Australia, but they certainly don't taste like that here!

When I had it (years ago) they told me to drink flat coca cola. (like the lemonade i guess) OF course i preferred taking medically sound advice like MEDICATION lol took me a good 3 weeks to get over it, and it is so nasty you think its bad now wa in like 3 / 4 days you will be moving all over the place to make the pain stop.

1 min it don't hurt to lay down then it does then it don't hurt to sit up then it does next laying on your side then face down then standing up then you feel like a walk and to anyone whos not had this it is so painful and you cant even drink water once it gets right into the main stage.

I really hope you get better soon :(

Also could just be a case of Gastro Interites, make them check that its not don't want no slip ups now.

To me all seafood tastes like that, I can't stand the teste of seafood, even if it has a food has tiny bit of seafood in it (and I can always tell when someone sneaks some in my food).

It must be some kind of gene, because me, my grandad, my mum and my brother all can't stand the taste of seafood.

Anyways I'll stop changing the topic now, Homer, see your doctor (or get him to make a house call), better safe then sorry.

I'm back.

After this I was just lying around on my bed trying to get some sleep, mulling over things and thinking about other things, and then I went downstairs.

First I sat in a weird position on a chair and got like 5min of sleep and then I moved over to the couch and got about 15min worth.

I'm feeling a lot better. I have just drunk a good few glasses of water (steadily) and it's also helping me feel better.

If it comes back and gets worse, I'll be booking an appointment with the doctor, or going to casualty.

Just see how things pan out really. Thanks for the advice guys, keep suggestions flowing as I will be using them all.

And also, if I feel upto it when I feel better, who wants me to either call the shop or go down there and record it?

If I'm making threats of "angry customer syndrome" you know I must be feeling a little bit better. :p

Depends on the food you could have eaten, but hospital is a bit extreme for some dodgy food.. maybe if it was an alergic reaction to prawns or something then yeah, but for now i'd just ride it out, and rest.. your body will take care of you, but don't start tucking into meals or anything yet - starve yourself for a few days, and only drink water.. if you get hungry, dry toast may be crappy but its the safest bet.

I always feel a lot better with some original Lucozade when I am feeling sick also..

1. Tell your parents ASAP.

2. Make sure you get taken to the hospital.

3. Let us know you are ok.

All the best!

Yeah, and call a good lawyer!!! Hope you feel better!!!!

Im sorry to hear you're not feeling well. It probably was food poisoning. or maybe you're having an allergic reaction to msgs that they may have used (i know a lot of places advertise that they dont use them, but apparently a lot of them still do!). not sure what the symptoms of that would be though. just a thought! :)
