Simple Math Q: Need Help. Concerning Functions.

Generalize what geometric transformation takes place when using f(x) to obtain the graph of:

a. cf(x) for c > 1

and cf(x) for 0 < c < 1

b. f(cx) for c > 1

and f(cx) for 0 < c < 1

Wow holy sh*t. I used to be able to answer these questions by just plotting the graphs in my head when i was younger..

Clean forgotton them.

I know the answer [roughly], but it's pertinent only to trig graphs.

for instance cf(x) changes the amplitude and f(cx) changes the frequency.

But it's not a generic enough term to pertain to all graphs...

I need a way to better word it.
