my bro logged on to ebay n found $3000's

n e one know what could of happened.... one of my friends said something about a virus or something that was going around placin bids??

Someone probably got ahold of his username/password I could contact ebay immediatly and stop all of those auctions, and change your password, or get a new account.

it could be done in a multiple of ways , first wehre did your brother login in from last ? is there a virus on his pc ? has he got any enermys ?

all sorts of things could have happened , if i where u i would email ebay :)

well its all done with ... i was just wondering if n e one knew of n e thing....but it just happened yesterday...n well there were 3 bids on 3 laptops n well luckly he was out bidded but still it was like down to the last second.... then if u know how ebay works... if u lose an item that u placed a bid on then u click on items im not winning and there was nothing there.... it was weird.... my brother wasnt even able to retract the bids..

yea me too... it sucks cuase he woulda hadda come up with $3000 to pay up if he did....but thank gawd he was out bidded...but just a word of caution to all you ebay'ers WATCH OUT.... for your accounts

Oh dear - Im guessing he followed one of the 'log in here to verify your contact details' from an email via a downloaded .html document. The users logs into Ebay via the webpage and the user/pass are emailed to another persons email address.

Unfortunate really, or perhaps he just had a really easy pass.

i think you must have been phished, as forster said... be warned about entering your ebay (or any other details to do with ANYTHING, eg: banks) into any site, even if the URL looks ok, check and double check and watch out for anything that may give the page away...
