When is Gmail launching?

Wouldn't it be funny that when it goes public, they erase all current users and make everyone have to sign up again?  :)

That would be very unfunny!

GMail is a long long way off right now. I have a gmail account, and I can tell you for sure that Gmail is no where near complete as far as I am concerned. Even though having 1 Gb is nice, I still dont use it as my primary email account, and havnt shared my gmail address with all my freinds, because currently it is lacking in many features. A few examples of this are:

- supports only writing plain text email. no rich text/html support yet. (but u CAN receive rich text and html emails)

- attachements support: buggy at best. most of the time trying to attach large files results in failures.

- contacts are not fully implemented yet. very basic yet. no contact groups, etc etc

- no importing of contacts/address book

and a lot more

although i am quite sure that google HAS been working on these for some time now, so no one can be sure of the extent to which these features have been completed, yet i would guess tht there is a good 3 to 4 months before gmail is ready for the public.

Wouldn't happen. Google said in the invitation mail that the accounts would all be active after the public launch.

Besides... I got a lot of emails in mine. They better not! And my name is cool too!

This is what I love about Gmail right now. It's so simple. I haven't really experimented with large files yet. The Contacts page is great IMO. It's very simple, and neat.

Maybe it will only be the people that have it now can keep it and the rest have to pay!!!

Run! Everyone start freaking out over invites! Hurry as fast as you can and do anything to get one!

Oh, my bad, thats how everyone is right now :)

/pets his gmail invites.

Rest, my pretties. Grow in value.....

Wouldn't it be funny if you were crossing the street and got hit by a dump truck, yes, a ****ing dump truck

(don't take this post seriously)
