kombolcha
didn't want to post this here, but i have to, lots of smart people here and response times are incredible. i got a 96 dodge stratus 2.5l v-6 sometimes i'll be at a red light, gear on "D" and when the light turns green and i accelerate the car doesn't go, its as if it were in neutral then all of the sudden it'll go into gear and make a bang noise and makes the car jump. after that everythin is normal. almost like when you're driving a stick and you kill it. car jerks and engine dies.. except my engine doesn't die. i've checked fluid levels and they're fine. no leaks either. i want to know what the problem is.. and mainly if i have to worry about it now, cus i'm kinda tight on money. RangerLG
I had something similar with my Chevy a while back. When I would slow down, my tranny would slip out of gear. I took it to a mechanic and had the screen and fluid changed. Never did it again. I would have the fluid changed and drained and while they have it up on the lift, they can look if something else is up. My fear was losing the transmission on the highway.
