Deskpaper

Recommended Posts

Well, it was one day, when I was talking about how badly wallpapers was termed, and I was thinking of a better term for it. So I came up with desktop paper, but my sister suggested that I shorten it to deskpaper.

That's how it came about. Look at my sig for more details.

roekoe the pigeon means business... :shifty:

deskpaper (Y) ok lets change it  :p

Yes, it's more politically correct.

Notice that in Windows XP, instead of saying wallpaper, it says Desktop Background.

Well, the whole computer=old paper desk analogy is kinda borked.

It's called wallpaper, i think, because the display is normally vertical, and so are walls. You also don't cover your desk in images, so there is no corresponding term. Wallpaper is better.

deskpaper sounds redundant, imho, because there always plenty of paper by a desk.
