All totaled, I likely had the symptoms anywhere from four to six months from the time it started bugging me until the day I was on the operating table. If you have the same issue with your ulnar nerves and are just starting to notice it recently, you have about a year before your hand goes almost entirely numb. That's just a guess of course. I remember talking to the anesthistist a week before my surgery (they ask you a bunch of stuff to see if you can handle their drugs) and I told him that my hand was so numb that he could probably take a hammer to it and I would barely feel it. I remember in that last month before the operation that it was getting pretty bad at a much quicker rate. That being said, I'm sure it's different for everyone depending on exactly how your nerves are positioned. Just see your GP and he will likely send you to a specialist.

my arm is twinging

Thanks for the illustrations mikey

No problem. Let me know what your doc says, I'm kinda curious. Hopefully you have something simple that won't require cutting you open, but if it's this nerve take my advice and choose the general anesthesia. I can't figure out whay people would want to be awake when people with masks are cutting you open?? This way you just go to sleep and wake up a few hours later with a nurse sitting next to you asking you if you want some morphine.

possible a nerv had been badly hit, tangaled, or traped. My dad gets this alot cause he got some nervs stuck in his elbow so it tingles and hurts abit.

Lately i've been getting some similar, my left and right hand can just start getting pins and needles when i am just sitting or layed out on my bed and not sitting on my hands.

a good example why you shouldn't spend too much time in front of the pc kids , it could happen to you

Actually i believe it was from moutain biking, the day before i fell off & was going over some pretty rough terrain.

do u type with ur left hand or use a computer alot with it. it could be a simple case of RSI (repetitive strain injury) just make sure that you try and gain the use of the muscles in your hand or it will lead ot further probelms. if its from falling off mountain biking then it could be strain or tear of liagaments and tendons in ur hand which will probably heal on their own gbut may require medcial attention.... hope u feel better soon :)
