TheLegendOfMart
Didnt really know where to put this, so here i am :) Basically i want to transfer some money to someones account, im using Nationwide Online Banking. Now it says for an External account (ie not to another Nationwide account): For Other Savings Account Numbers: a.. Passbook account numbers are printed on the inside cover of passbooks. b.. You should type in the full account number as it appears inside the passbook e.g. branch code or prefix and the account number 0234/123456789 or 123-1-12345678-12. Ok, im a little bit worried about following the advice, because i dont want the money going to the wrong account, so my question is, can 2 banks have the same sort code, ie barclays and natwest, Or is the above information right, and i just do it as it says and pray and hope that it goes to the right account? RandyC
Each branch of every bank in the UK has its own sort code so there is no repetition in sort codes between banks and their branches. Transftering money from one account is easy ... just double check the numbers are correct and its no more difficult than filling in the paying in slip at the bank with your right sort code & account number. -RandyC-
