I've been on 56k for many years.

Getting 512k DSL in August :D but until then..... about 1Gb is my download limit at once. I often do 800Mb ISO's in flashget from servers that support resume.

My downloads folder which gets burned to a DVD once it reaches 4.7Gb is currently at 1Gb :)

The speeds I get mean I clock up about 500Mb in say 22+ hours.. yeah I know i'm mad!

Thought you were gonna share the 2mb connection via wireless from down the road?

those years are over for me... ADSL here... but really... I admire people who had the nerve to put up with the speeds and handshaking time on 56k (myself included!)...

But you probably have a seperate phone line for your computer, thats connected most of the time.

I have a 1.5 meg cable connection. I love it.

Oh man don't bring up the days of 33.6K, let alone 56K :o

lol yeah I never owned a 56k, I jumped straight from 33.6k to 512k cable.

I couldnt stand it, now I have OOL (10mbps) and wish I had a faster connection as well even though it is the fastest North American cable ISP. ;)

Uhm, that's strange, because when I had the 56k, i was able to download 200-250 MBs in one night (6-7 hours, that's my night), and isos in one and a half days...

768k ADSL here...my laptop only gets like 200-300kb/s max though, 'cause it's on wireless.

200-300Kb/s on 768???? And I get around 128Kb/s on 1Mbit?
