FM
Long shot...here goes. Seeing as google (English) translates non-English pages into English...try searching the page from the Danish google site http://www.google.com/intl/da/ and translating it. EDIT: It works. DoNuTs
"Thermeltake's Volcano 7x er a very big copper cooler with a powerfull 0.55a / 70mm fan. Unfortunately it's a bit noisy if it have to be effective - But can't it be done better ? Several of their coolers have a 80mm fan, and they deliver the same ammount of cooling at a lower RPM. PIC1 --- This is how the cooler looks in the original box. PIC2 --- Here all the parts wich came with the package are laid on the table. Her are for instance the smart Voltregulator to control the RPM's on the fans PIC3 --- All the bits and peices are put together - Massive copper cooler with a powerfull and noisy 0.55A / 70mm fan. PIC4 --- Yep it says Volcano7+ on the as long as it lasts ;) PIC5 --- Vi are starting be demounting the fan on the mountingframe. We'll be using that to play around with PIC6 --- This is how the mounting frame looks when the fan is removed PIC7 --- This is the coolingprofile wich we'll be using later PIC8 --- We've taken part of the mountingframe from another cooler from thermaltake - we'll be using a bit of it. On the picture you'll already see where we've sawed a bit. PIC9 --- This is the corners with the screw holes, wich will later be used as a distance peice to mount the new 80mm fan. You kan offcourse saw little peices of metal out, and drill two holes for the screws if you don't got a Silent Viking cooler ;) PIC10 --- Then we'll put the messurements on the frame for the fan - we'll need to saw in it. There is already a line where we have to saw PIC11 --- Here the top is sawed off - you can just throw em away! PIC12 --- Heres one of the two pieces left. It has to be mounted on the coolingprofile again. PIC13 --- Here are both peices screwn back on again. Now you can see where the four distancepeices need to be used. PIC14 --- Now the four distancepeices are mounted with screws. Now it's about time to mount the new and bigger fan. PIC15 --- Her you can see how big a difference there really is on a 70 and 80 mm fan! The plug wich was seated on the wire for the control of the RPMS has been dismounted on the original fan. PIC16 --- Now the plug has been mounted on the new 80mm fan. it's possible to get the wire about by the help of a small screwdriver. PIC17 --- Now the new and bigger fan is mounted :) PIC18 --- It looks ok, and now its both effective and silent. If you don't care about the noiselevel you can use a 6000rpm 80mm fan - a fan like that should be able to cool abit more than the smaller 70mm fan wich is standard on the cooler Good luck with the project ;) Ok, rough translation ... Hope you can use it ;)
