.KICK
Same here looking to use and abuse the 1mb service once they get round to upgrading me. Then when my 12month contract runs out in November im off else where. You know you can move to another ISP by using the migration service to other ISP's such as Nildram and Zen and several others. You can switch before the 12 months
mark52230
This just applies to BT's service rite? So if I'm using a different ISP but through BT's line I won't be affected?
blik
Just for people using BT as their ISP at the moment but other ISP's will follow suit slowly... Im on BT and I'll be changing to plus.net as soon as my contract is up...
mark52230
Hopefully I'll be ok as my ISP had several packages available and I specifically picked the package without download limits..

I want to move to plus net, im currently on 512KB and want to get 1MB, how do I go about leaving BT with as little down time as possible?

Batfink
I just spoke to a manager of BT Broadband customer services. He confirmed, that this is a new term of service released today and taking effect in 2005. It applies to all BT products. 1Gb on BB Basic 15Gb on 512k BB 30Gb on 1Mbit BB If you go over they will charge ?2 per Gigabyte. I informed the Gentleman that I did not accept these changes to their terms of service and requested that he cancel my contract in 30 days time. I suggest everyone else who enjoys Broadband Britan:no:: should do the same Leebobs : EDIT! - Why is BT introducing usage limits: BT is introducing usage allowances on its Broadband products in order to offer a better and fairer deal to the majority of customers. The benefit of introducing usage limits is that it enables us to charge most users substantially less.Usage allowances give you the ability to transfer up to 15Gb of data per month with the BT Broadband and BT Yahoo! Broadband 512kbps services or 30Gb of data per month with the BT Broadband 1Mb or BT Yahoo! Broadband 1MB services. The amount of data transferred is the total data received by the end user (downloaded) AND sent by the end user (uploaded) over their broadband service and is measured in Kilobytes (KB), Megabytes (Mb) or Gigabytes (GB). 1Mb = 1024KB; and 1GB = 1024Mb. Check out the table below to give you an idea of what 15GB a month usage allowance may mean to you. All of these things - not just one of them - are possible within 15GB a month; Surfing the Internet - 15 hours each day Sending 250 JPEG pictures via e-mail every week Receiving 250 JPEG pictures via e-mail every week Downloading 250 music tracks every week Downloading three hours of video clips every week Listening to online radio for fifteen hours every week Sending 3000 emails every week without (no attachments) Receiving 3000 emails every week (no attachments)

Argote
This country's internet is a ****ing JOKE!Over priced, capped up, low speed ****ing ****! I'm beginning to get ****ed off with Telewest as I'm getting routing issues more often, AND the cable box downstairs for T.V is dying... AND some of the channels go down on a regular basis, or video / sound freezes and goes jerky. BT is gonna introduce a limit, their prices are ****ing rediculous, Telewest is getting stupid and I have heard something bad about Bulldog from a friend (he used it, they ****** up). ****ing want to go to America, Optimum Online 10/1 internet with no limits. Now thats the kinda **** I'm talking about, yo! Here in Mexico i can bet it's more expensive, ADSL 256/128 k is for 349 pesos (like 30 dlls, 18 pounds) thou i hear theres a new service that uses radio waves and has 2MBps at 399 pesos, thou i saw the website and im out of range, theres also cable but price/speed is on par with ADSL and since there's only 1 phone company, there's only 1 ADSL provider, however i live in a not very important city (400,000 inhabitants) and i bet in bigger cities there are far more options
