My dad gave me my first cup of coke when I was 10months old (I have been told that my mom almost killed him for that) but since then it is about all I drink. On a normal day I drink about a liter on warmer days I drink 2+ liters a day! I am 20 now I have thought about quitting but decided to stop next year when I turn 21 then I can trade it for Vodka oh how I do love my vodka!

I was drinking about 2-3 pints of coke a day - which is a lot. Im only 14. The dentist said it was rotting my teeth, so stop. I now havent had any coke for 1 year - which is hard, because its all i used to drink

I decided yesterday I didn't want to drink soda, coke specifically, anymore. My dad drank Pepsi the greater part of his life, and he has all sorts of stomach/teeth trouble as a result. Well I drink probably 6-7 cans a day, not a lot. However it's been just over 24 hours since I had one, and I have had a terrible headache all day.

I've heard of these type of side effects, almost like a (mild) form of withdrawal. I'm hoping when I get up tomorrow it will be all gone. I know this definetly happens if you try to get off of caffeine, but I'm still drinking tea which I know has caffeine in it. Anyone else done this type of thing?

6-7 cans a day? That's more than i drink in a month! :)

6-7 cans a day??? not a lot??? wtf are you smoking?? i usually have 1 can a day MAYBE 2 if a splurge. of course your body would get ****ed up from drinking 6-7 cans a day.

I've not had a soda for years now, all I drink is either water, or fully skimmed milk. Infact I've had to cut down on the ammount of water I drink, lol - I used to drink about 4-6l daily. Now I drink a minimum of 1.5l (recommended ammount) but usually around 2l a day.

Normally I get one bottle of flavoured water a week and just fill it up (we have great water here in Scotland :D) but having just looked at the label, that's about 300-400 calories I can cut out a week now. (and I need to lose weight)

 I gave up soda for a few months -- mostly to avoid the sugar and it's effects on diabetes. I rarely drink caffeine drinks -- cuz I'm too wound up now to get decent sleep.

You might try orange juice as a substitute for soda.

Gave it up awhile ago. One of the worst things you can put in your body.

I wish I could say my 2 pot a day coffee habit was gone too. :(

Aside from that I only drink water.

Holy crap, I can't believe this thread is so popular

Anywho, I feel much better today, no headache at all. I'll probably be using apple/orange juice and water as a substitute for all the soda

I rarely drink soda. Only when at school where I don't trust the water fountains. Then somtimes at home when I want to drink something cold. I find that as I drink soda, it starts to taste like water half-way, so I stop drinking it :) .
