Internet Connection Sharing Problem

Question

Dead Messiah

I am sharing my DSL connection with another computer in my house using Windows's Internet Connection Sharing. It works good and all but on the other computer (not the internet gateway) I can't access a lot of web pages. Like if I try to download something from download.com it just hangs there. I went into and tried to see if all the functions of the internet were being shared, some were unchecked so I checked them off but still no luck.

I'd be really greatful if someone could help me out.

Thanks...

disable any and all.... then retry....

if you dont have a firewall make sure the XP ICF is disabled. Further, try a download manager. If that does not work, check your port 80 and make sure the PC you are using and the one you are connecting through allows data through that port. If not, use HTTP tunnel.

I don't see any problem like that (in my ICS).

try to turn off the Firewall (which will enable by default when ICS enable).

Try raising your MTU and TCP Recieve windows (search google for Dr.TCP)

My settings:

MTU: 1400

TCP: 32767
