Jorgo
I am an adult (at least by age) and if I told my parents I'd still (or again) read comics, they'd probably tell me to do better things with my time than to read that nonsense. Hell, I even made a website about them together with some other guys! What do you think... is reading comics something you'd rather not share with others (an how old are you)? :shifty:

Soviet
Whats wrong with reading comics... they are just short voilent books with big breasted women... If people around you dont like comics.. well you'll always be accepted at the local comic shop. 20 and I still read em.

tristan.oneil
I don't comics that much myself but theres nothing wrong with reading them, no matter what age you are, and if people tell you otherwise tell them to go screw themselves.
Jorgo
Whats wrong with reading comics... they are just short voilent books with big breasted women... Now with that part I would have to disagree, because there are awesome comics that are not like that, for example Sandman, and even my parents would be hard pressed to understand all the literature and history stuff that's used in there! redfish
I dont think theres necessarily anything wrong with the comics format (or cartoons either) , but most have stories that are juvenile and drawing which is skilled but not special IMO this is why i never liked typical superhero comics , but there have been comics done which are really artful (noflamesplease)

My favorite comic is probably The Incal, though.

Soviet
Mainstream comics are good... Go for the Independant publishers.. they tend to be better.

My favorite comic is probably The Incal, though. jorgo, im interested in new comics like by Chris Ware (Jimmy Corrigan, the Smartest Kid on Earth) and Daniel Clowes (Ghost World), which are intelligfent and treat the form like an art by paying attention to pacing and style. i hope this doesn't make me seem pretentious for liking these and not superhero comics/other types of comics, but those other types just dont appeal to me, like action movies dont appeal to me. I also like different comic strips that have been created similarly, like Little Nemo in Slumberland and Krazy Kat. for cartoons, I now really like some things on Cartoon network by Genndy Tartakovsky and Craig McCracken
dreamz Veteran Posted July 4, 2004 Veteran Share Posted July 4, 2004 comics are fine so long as they're not the only form of literature that is read. ;)

Jorgo
jorgo, im interested in new comics like by Chris Ware (Jimmy Corrigan, the Smartest Kid on Earth) Interesting taste - Novelty Library by Chris Ware is very good and it's definitely not one of those that you can read in 10 mins. Maybe you want to head over and try yourself at reviewing? We still need more reviewers (for movies, books and music, too  )...
