neowin_hipster
The sky train is the biggest waste of money. I live in Westwood Plateau. I'd have to drive 1/2 hour to get to lougheed mall's sky train station, and then transfer on bus to get to UBC. Sky train is a big waste of ****ING MONEY!!! THE NDP **** me off soo much. They wasted soo much money on their mega projects. left-wing parties sure know how to raise taxes, make everyone poor, and spend like hell! I just finished my tax return for 2001 and paid $20,000 in Income Tax. That gives me the right. Did I like the NDP? No! Were Glen Clark and Ujjal Dosanjh bad Premiers? Yes! Is Gordon Campbell better? No bloody way! I don't mind paying taxes. I prefer that they be spent on Health, Education, Welfare, and infrastructure projects that provide some measurable benefit. The census info just released demonstrates the huge urban renewal impact of Skytrain Phase I. Why would Phase II be any different? Since I have to pay $20,000 a year in taxes ... I have earned the right to say I'd rather see the money spent on Skytrain than improving the Sea to Sky for Campbell's Whistler based real estate developer cronies ... or even worse ... the Olympic bid. What a crock that is. When you graduate from an education that I am subsidizing and enter the workforce ... then you get to make these comments. Until then, enjoy the fruits of my labour and maybe take some poli-sci, history, or economics electives so at least you won't be so naive.

Yes it does ... it just bothers me when repeating what the newspapers write (because it's what their advertisers want them to write) becomes a substitute for independent thought and consideration.
