Hotel Vs Motel

Recommended Posts

Parking is free in a motel while parking in a hotel is about $24/day. Unless its a hotel near the airport. I'm sure their parking is cheaper than a downtown hotel.

hate downtown hotels... i've always tried to stay away from em cause they dont offer free parking.

All the best hotel are downtown in T.O.

If you're paying several hundred dollays per night, what's another $24/night for parking?

I was with a girl once that really was into going to hotel rooms. Oh well, she always paid half and you've got to do what you've got to do...

Yea, I edited before I saw this.

I'll give you Holiday Inn but not Best Western or Days Inn.

i travel all the time for work and best westerns definately aren't motels. it's the worlds largest hotel chain.

all the places i have been i have never stayed in a motel. generally a motel will have the word "motel" in the name. and as other people have said normally have 1 floor or no hallways and the doors outside. but there are also hotels like that.

i've stayed in hotels rooms that range from $40 a night to over $2000.

Motel - An establishment that provides lodging for motorists in rooms usually having direct access to an open parking area. Also called motor court, motor lodge.

Hotel - An establishment that provides lodging and usually meals and other services for travelers and other paying guests.

Best Western, Days Inn, Holiday Inn, and some Super 8s are hotels. It doesn't matter if meals are served. If the doors are on the outside of the building, it's a motel. Anything else is a hotel.

I have seen motels that are more than 3 floors high.
