beanboy89
I am not complaining or anything, but I noticed the Google ads are green at the top of some pages and don't match the skin of the board. Has anyone else noticed this as well? I noticed the Pinned topic at the top of the page, but I don't think that relates to this. I am using Firefox 0.9.2 if that makes a difference. Redmak Administrators Posted July 9, 2004 Administrators Share Posted July 9, 2004 Since you guys hardly click on the ads we thought we'd rotate the colours a bit. I like it tbh. Ads shouldn't blend into the site and go unnoticed

Ads shouldn't blend into the site and go unnoticed The ads are not computer related. Perhaps if you guys had some computer related material we would. I'm personally interested in those "Public Service" ads at all. (N)

Steven P. Administrators Posted July 9, 2004 Administrators Share Posted July 9, 2004 While I was reading this I looked to see if you were correct and it seems you are not. Public Service ads are included in the rotation but so are computer related ones.

Long
The problem with banner ads on Neowin is that they don't "advertise" effectively. You go on Neowin because you're looking for a source of information, that information is in the content section of the page, far down from the header, where the banner is placed. Once you've finished reading, you'd be likly to follow a link that leads to another page. So any relevant ads that may be in the Google Ad is lost. Thus people won't look at it or click on it.
