Hide Desktop Icons...

Recommended Posts

This is extremely simple without any 3rd party software:

1.) Right mouse click on the desktop and select Properties.

2.) Select the Desktop Tab..

3.) Bottom left should be a button entitled "Customize Desktop"..

4.) Deselect. the four icons.

Sorted :rambo:

You can do all of this with Microsoft Management Console, recommended to us here by PabUK.

The program/console is run by typing "gpedit.msc" in the run box.

When the window opens click "user configuration" in the sidebar, then go down to "administrative templates" and expand that directory. Finally, click on the "desktop" folder and have a look at the options in there.

Just tweak a few things in that folder and you should be able to have your desktop looking the way you want. :)
