When will Neowin upgrade to IPB 2.0.0?

Recommended Posts

Well now that the RC1 of IPB 2.0.0 has been released with the 1.3 upgrade script, I was wondering when Neowin will be upgrading to IPB 2.0.0?

Cheers :)

Neowin has a lot of mods... and tons of skins.

It's going to take awhile to get everything finished.

Even when 2.0 is final... i doubt neowin will be upgraded right after.

When 1.2 came out... it took sometime for us to upgrade.

Neowin downtime for a few days?

No.

Redmak will do the same thing he did last time. He'll make a Temp board in another directory of neowin and work on the upgrade there. When everything is complete and looks ok he then merges the changes into the PRODUCTION site that we all use.

Neowin has been through these board changes enough that they have a distinct plan to upgrade.

vB ---> IPB

IPB 1.0 ---> 1.1 ----> 1.2 ----> 1.3 :happy:

Well I've acutually seen screenshots of NW on vb and it looked very much like this. I only wish we could go back to vB but with version 3.

No. God no. One of the main reasons we switched is because IPB is less cpu hungry.

but it isn't now ;)

Yeah, now it's horrible. It's slow (both on the server side and the client side), missing a lot of useful features in IPB 2.0, and just plain fugly :p
