Samoa
I recently got the Koolance Exos from EBay. It came with the CPU-300-H06 waterblock by Koolance.. It was a great deal. I saved about 125.00 off of retail prices. And shipping was a bargin too. I have no experience other than this with water cooling. I was faced with where to put everything for a good cooling system inside my case. I didn't want parts outside of it or making things ugly, and possibly leaking. The Exos was good choice. The setup instructions were easy and the actual setup went without a hitch. Although the only thing I couldn't figure out was where to place the cpu probe. oh well. Anyway, it has been running great. Filling it was a breeze. According to the directions, it automatically filters air in the system. So no worries about bleeding it. I did have to tilt my case to get the air out of the water block though. But making sure it didn't spill when I was filling was about the only concern I had after reading the instructions. I had Thermalright SP-97 with a several 92mm fans on board. Temps where decent I guess for the OC I was doing. I wasn't happy though. Temps ranged from 46C to 59C. Since installing the Exos, temps have been 38C to 47C, varying with the OC I've done. It has been pretty consistant. Not once did it go past 50C. And quickly cools down. There are three settings for the fans. Safe to say, I have it on the first for silent operation. The third is with fans on full all the time and when it starts up in any mode, you will hear what it sounds like momentarily. After that initial burst, it goes dead silent. Even my highest OC did not get the temps my average OC got with SP-97. I would like to note, that I am interested in silent to superquiet operations. So the fans weren't the best 92mm fans granted but they were very effective. I recommend this system for those who have the concerns i did. With this purhase I can always use it for any sysytem. This is a worthy investment. Look on Ebay sometime for a brand new one like I got. Many have been sold there. *note that there are slightly better make-your-own setups out there. But you will have a problem with cooling with smaller radiators, and with bigger ones you will have a placement issue. I was looking at spending 120-140 for a do-it-yourselfer, managed to get this Exos for 135.00. :D Click on the following to see pics of the Exos and 300cpu waterblock. the Koolance Exos CPU-300-H06 waterblock by Koolance. NO, it's actually cause I was ****ed and lazy. I'm planning to do a follow up, a "Not so poor man's review". I'll have to do it to get you happy. Gee your my only audience. I'll have to do graphs comparing temps, with pics of the koolance mounted inside and on top of my case. I'll do a real nice review tomorrow. But, I will only spend 45mins putting it together. Actually the hard parts have already been done, so it shouldn't take me too long. thanks for the interest. :D

Samoa
well MyIE2_user, I was thinking I couldn't afford it or I wouldn't need it. I had a hard time even after I had paid for it and it was in my home. But now that I have it, it's great. Any performance PC, ie OC'ed and what not, should have a WC system on board. Whether you build it yourself or buy a self contained one like I did. Best points are that it is very effective in cooling, very near silent operation, and is portable. Like I said, I got a great deal on it, making the choice between a built-by-me system and this was a really easy choice. :D Edited July 11, 2004 by Samoa

Samoa
Congrats Man (Y)Damn Good Review Too. :D Now you are making me want to take this step more than ever... Go for it man, then you can safely OC that without being concerned about heat. And forget Ambient temps, watercools good. That thing has a decent sized radiator. SonComet
I used to have an exos (it's in a box in my garage waiting until I get unlazy enough to sell it). It was ok, just super hard to transport from home to school on a regulae basis so I got a zalman 7000cu instead, heh. That's when my 2.8C started running at stock instead of 3.4ghz (surprisingly I couldn't tell the difference).

Please note, that I don't have the cpu probe hooked up correctly, and that's why the fans don't come on at full even when cpu temps hit 50C. And I use CpuIdle Extreme as well. So temps do get a few degrees lower. I could get a better waterblock, a three port one instead, that would cool things a bit better. But I got mine in the package.
