Messenger spinning logo

Recommended Posts

Yeah at school we sometimes use the mac, unfortunatly, but anyway :) I thought the logging in thingy was way cooler than the standard windows one. But i cant remember there was a RED guy in that spinning logo though?

I'll have a look at replacing the logon animation that appears when you have entered your sign in details. I might have to cut some frames here and there to make it the right length....

Ok. I've done it, but somehow messed up the icon - messenger is now invisible in the system tray.

When I have time, I'll fix it and post the replacement exe

Ok, the only animation in MSN (that I am aware of) that has more than two frames is the loging on logo - and messenger will only display that in 1 bit colour.

Therefore, the best I can do is:

newmsgrlogo.gif which is 20 frames taken from the 32 frame animation throbber_MSN_12-07.gif

It still looks pretty smooth

Get it here

Those on slower connections will be able to appriciate the two minor errors in the conversion that I have made!

EDIT: This is based on version 4.6.0077

Not much that can be done about that. If you save the bitmap in colour, messenger just displays it as a block of grey

I'm sure a proper hacker could enable full colour animations if they wanted - I assume messenger has has the capabilities locked up somewhere.

I'm not a hacker though - I don't know how.
