PcGamer giving DooM III 94%!

If you like the Horror and shock genre, this will be your thing!

Luckily I'm objective enough to say: THIS GAME IS GONNA ROX UR SOX.

But not my sox.

In soem cases the game is "given" to Magazines and sites for review. Ofcourse you can guess what happens to the sale's figure of the game is everyone gives it 94% before it's even released. In this case it's a preview of the Full game, in most cases it's jest a preview of a Demo, to which no figures can be given. Genereally speaking then eh.

with all the delays happening in the past 18 months they now tend to have front cover reviews of a preview edition and then follow it up with a column when the games out if anything changes.

They are calling it a review tho it can hardly be called that when they didnt even test the mp.

Can you please link those images(or make smaller), they make the damn board spread wider and I have to scroll to the right and left to read people's comments.

Thank you :) (PLease)

Well then thats just stupid and perhaps a bit biased. A good Mag/Site will NOT give a definate number untill all sides of the game have been tested in full. This includes Multiplayer. I would not take this figure seriously.

I think most reviews of video games are bs anyway, don't you? The publisher/developers probably just pay the websites and mags

Naw, I find that gamespot are fairly good, and i feel that I can trust them in most cases.

In most cases I do think that they are a little "too friendly", and in some cases a bit scred. If they would say: Half life 2 is gonna sux big time! they wont be expecting any pre-release footage to be thrown their way. EA is a great example of this method.

I got one copy when I was in the states. Overall I was not really impressed. It had a Half-life 2 exclusive, and said in huge words: WE WERE THE FIRST TO TEST IT!

The somewhat short story was pretty much a duplicate of what I had in a Dutch mag (PC gameplay) the same month. Valve was just inviting everyone to come test 3 the same levels. The Dutch article was 200% better. But that just my biased opinion ;)

That's a good score. Anyone know what's the highest score ever bestowed and what game title is that? Half Life (the first not 2)

Probably a 99% but I don't know what game is that good. IMO, HL isn't that great of a game. HL2 is my most wanted game though

I remember sooo many games you all use to talk about on here before they came out, and everyone was so excited.

But when they finally came out, they were crap and everyone shut up.

Now I figure if D3 runs like crap and is full of bugs then everyone will be dissapointed once again, It could happen. But if it runs fairly smooth on newer systems and has good replay value, then it could be a great game that everyone talks about for years to come.

99%? I dont think that high percentage was given. Half life back then was good compared with genre of FPS and others. It was something new that's why it got such high ratings. Now it is just very "typical" if you ask me.

Yeah It could all be just a big hype, and that all these Previews with higher-then-average scores are just some kind of advertising to sell the game, before people can realise that it's bad. Title's like Black and White, Prince of Persia 3D ring an illusive bell.
