war
Don't you think it's about time to force all pics larger than 1024x768 be displayed as 1024x768 automatically? Think it would help a lot. Mainly for the desktop threads that happen every month. ;) Just thought it would be a good idea. Or maybe even 800x600?? Take Care, Will
bakerster
All atached images are already 'minimized'..
Toxikk Veteran Posted July 16, 2004 Veteran Share Posted July 16, 2004 on the thumbnail they are... but the regular sized image, no. once you click the thumb, you get the fullsize. unfortunately, i do not think that we can limit what a member posts by using the img tag... only attachments. biorK
As [R.B] said, they're already minimized. That's the important thing, so we doesn't load the server with biiig images. I haven't encountered pictures with too big size, was a long time anyway. *edit, have you seen it in many threads lately war? or it's just a thought? i'm curious :)
Toxikk Veteran Posted July 16, 2004 Veteran Share Posted July 16, 2004 i saw one right here.... https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=190859 it bothers me too.
Redestium
Yeah, that img tag is trouble when people don't take into consideration the dim.
DeX
I see this done on some boards. Although it keeps everything nice and tidy it's a real resource killer for your browser. Try viewing a thread full of shrunken images on a P2 400 with 128 MB ram and you'll see what I mean.
Bizkit
It doesn't bother me too much. Makes the monthly desktop thread look alot cleaner.

kagaku
Personally, I wouldn't mind these auto-thumbnailing features at all as long as we have an option to disable them. Some of us on higher resolutions don't mind someone embedding a full 1600x1200 image at all. While we're probably a minority, please keep us under consideration when implimenting features like this.
