what will be the final name of Longhorn?

Nobody seems to even give a thought that Microsoft is nearing its tenth official release of Windows. If you count the releases you can see that they could go in this direction.

My moneys on "Windows X"

It would be a stab at Apple and the Unix, Linux comunities in fell swoop.

X (ten) because it is direct conpitition with OS X and it would help muddy the waters and because the "X" has always had something to do with Unix-Linux crowd.

I can see Microsoft thinking in this way.

Windows 360

Like a ninja it enters your home and gradually takes over all your appliances. First, your game console. Next, your toaster.

I thought Windows Reloaded sounded cool. That was the codename for Xp Sp2 however.

Dunno what it will finally be called. I'm guessing Windows 2006 or 2007 since Office strayed from Xp and is now 2003.

I also vote for Windows 360....

With all the people moving over from the social network side (wallop) to work on the shell and the acquisition of GROOVE.....I could see them working/playing on an "immersive" experience for this generation of Windows.

I read in a magazine somewhere they were thinking about "XP2" How gay would that be.

I liked one of the first posts:

Windows Client 07 Or something.

Client just sounds sleek.
