what will be the final name of Longhorn?

Howabout Longhorn? Sounds fine to me . . . except the fact that it sounds like a porn site . . . hmmmm . . .

I think "Windows NT 6.0" would sound good.

Microsoft Windows NT 6.0 Personal

Microsoft Windows NT 6.0 Workstation

Microsoft Windows NT 6.0 Server

Microsoft Windows NT 6.0 x64 Edition

Just some more inspiration. Btw, all programs currently still contain Longhorn as the product name (ie, system builders/designed for.../partner programs).

Your post doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Are you trying to claim there would have been no advancement if MS had stuck with version numbers?

Please also remember that NT versioning is not the same as with DOS-based Windows.

Example:

9x/Me (version 4.xx) is not the same product as NT4.

Microsoft Windows MT

Oh like MT (duh empty) promises?

Windows XT (neXT)

Might have issue with the NeXT trademark.
