iconman
Neither you should get the 3360 or the 3390 there ****'n awesome I have the 3360 I love it!
-Viper-
I have the 8210 and I love it. Never had any problems with it, so I would go for that one. If price is not a problem, I would go for the 8390 myself. ***Thinks to self*** Might be upgrading soon.:D Again this is just my 2 cents take it or leave it. aco Veteran Posted March 21, 2002 Veteran Share Posted March 21, 2002 I'll try not to be biased. :) (I've got a 3310). The 8210 is light and small, but it is not very solid. The LCD displays (and the LCD display contacts) are known to stuff up. The 3310 is a bit heavier and bulkier, it basically has all the same features as the 8210 (except no voice dialing). IMHO, the 3310 feels alot less flimsy and is better value for money, but seeing as price doesn't concern you I'd go for the 8210, or better still the new 8310. :D
CloudEngineer
hows this for a deal :) $120 AU for a 8210 And my cousin said i can swap for his 3310 if i want :) The lcd screen stuffing up on the 8210 worries me because i've managed to stuff up my 5110's screen and thats a brick compared to a 8210 The voice dialing doesn't worry me cause i doubt i'll use it. Hawkeye
Well, I can tell you one thing. They are both excellent phones, and it took me a while to decide between the two models before I finally picked the 3310. Here is why: It lets you make custom ringtones with the composer. Both phones have the ability to have custon ringtones, but the 3310 (and all phones in the 3300 series) have a neat little tool called the Music Composer. What this does is it sets each key to a different musical note, and lets you compose a ringtone with it. To get a custom ringtone on the 8210, you have to call up a certain phone number, and it sends the ringtone to your phone. To find the keypresses you would need to make a custom ringtone, just do a search on Google for custom ringtones and the phone's model number. It will give you a ton of websites that tell you the key combinations for some popular (and not so popular) musical ringtones. I know this sounds like something miniscule, but I really like custom ringtones, and for me that was the deciding factor. Other than that feature, they are nearly identical in features. Like I said, both are great phones.

Like I said, both are great phones. That's a good point, but what's much better than composer is having a data cable. Ringtones, picture messages, startup logos, operator logos can be instantaneously uploaded to your phone or sent to others all using a program (Logomanager) and a data cable. Pugsley
personally i have an 8210, and have had no problems with it at all. if u wanted to go with the 33xx series, i'd go with a 3330, but only because of the wap and animated screensavers. plus they are quite a bit lighter than the 3310 and aco, the 3310 does have voice dialling, i have used it and any of you aussies out there, if you're after data cables then have a look at www.mobacc.com.au, they have a full range of data cables aswell as usb chargers and some other stuff. for all you non-aussies out there, if you're after data cables and the like check out www.gsmsquare.com. but if you're in the UK, check out www.gsmmagic.com. its a forum, but the administrator sells data cables really cheap hope all this helps
tomwarren Veteran Posted March 21, 2002 Veteran Share Posted March 21, 2002 I have had three 8210's ALL with problems. 8210s always have problems no matter what anyone says. It's the elastomer at fault! Over time they become compressed and start to lose contact with the board! Nokia know it's a problem and had a new type manafactured that don't suffer from the problem. So if u buying a NEW 8210 then yes if not then NO avoid like the plague 3310s are **** in my opinion, just like what they used to build houses from ;-) I think an 8310 would be much better :) http://www.nokia.com/phones/8310/index.html
Pugsley
just wait til the 7650 or 7210 comes out, they are way better than anything that is available now
Sleeper Veteran Posted March 21, 2002 Veteran Share Posted March 21, 2002 if u can afford it go the the 8310 cos it has one neat light on the keypad :) and not to forget all the games :D
Osiris
Yeah I can second the above statement, as I had to g et my 8210 fixed 3.5 weeks ago. The rubbery thing behind the screen compresses and leads to alot of problems with the display. The newer well 8210s made now etc, fixed the problem. Or if you buy one for $30 take it in to the local mobile repair joint, and theyll fit it with the newer and bigger rubber things that wont compress and boom, you wont have to worry about anything else at all with ya 8210. And yeah the 3310, like the 3330, and then 5110, and 5110i and hell even the 5510. Are all Bricks, ah yes much like the 3210, or even 3810. ALL BRICKS. So if you enjoy carrying bricks around with you by all means get one of the above listed phones. But yeah smaller, sleek, stylish, packed with features, what more could you want from an 8210. aco Veteran Posted March 21, 2002 Veteran Share Posted March 21, 2002 Here are some other ones that you should check out: http://www.nokia.com.au/nokia_apac/austral...a/8855_features and the 7210, only weighs 83g?! http://www.nokia.com.au/nokia_apac/australia/7210_main and pugsley, thanks for telling me. CloudEngineer
i've got to admit that 7210 & 8855 looks pretty good and got some nice features. I have made up my mind and i will not be getting a Nokia 3330 i'll be going around to buy it tommrow after school. :)
=NickJ=
Lol @ cream's phone You should see some of the crazy things that 8210 does. I have a 7110 and, although its a bit of a brick, holding 5000 names and numbers and 170 text messages is just too appealing! /me loves the fact that Europe & Aus get much better phones than the US :D :p In my opinion, if you dont want a phone thats gonna crap up after a few months (all Nokia's do), get a Sony phone instead, like the Z5, lovely phone :)
Hawkeye
You guys have to realize that not all phones are available in all parts of the world. If you live in the United States, you will never see the 8310 in use. It will only be available in Asia, Europe, and Africa. Make sure you check the locations listed next to Availability: before you suggest a phone. DJ^TuRKiYe will be able to get that phone in Australia, but residents of the UK and the United States will never see it.
