It's a full size keyboard

585532318[/snapback]

Its full size in that it has all the buttons that other laptops have but its small in the sense the buttons on it are quite tiny (See the Enter button the arrow keys are half there normal size) this is because apple use that same keyboard on the 12inch and 15inch Powerbooks. the iBooks also have the same keyboard (just its plastic/white).

@andrewfee: I had the same problem but I know what caused it. When you install OSX and iLife '05 is in the options, you have to tick iPhoto and iMovie HD together, but it also installs (I think) 78MB or so for iDVD. If you untick iDVD completely (this isn't the gigabyte install), you'll end up with that question-mark problem.

You think you're installing iMovie, but you're really not? Just make sure iPhoto is ticked, and then check the box for iMovie HD, and LET it half-check the box for iDVD (you'll know you're not installing iDVD when the size is fairly small... not the 1.2GB or so that it normally takes up). Hope that does the trick, because it did for me. Installing it after getting OSX off the ground works too, but I just do it in one go and that was something that happened to me too. :)

where did you get that desk?!

From IKEA Amsterdam, it's called GALANT Desk and ships for ?225,-. I got it for the discount price of ?99,-, two weeks later the prices went back up to ?225,-.

Thanks for the tip, but I chose to install all of the iLife '05 steuff, lol. I did deselect one and re-select it by mistake though, so maybe that's what caused it.

That is crap to live in bad country :pinch:

no macs, no licensed software, games, ... no new products from a major companys.

I thought that was GA:DNT. :D

It looks really nice. I'm going to pick up a GALANT combo for my room in a few weeks.

Ikea has something like 200 stores across the world. Including some down here in Australia too! :)

wow, not bad for a Swedish company! :p I just saw they opened a second store in the Amsterdam area. I guess there's no stopping them! :omg:

Yeah, I quite like the company in fact. Furniture that looks great and affordable too. :) Of course you comprise the quality, but they generally are fine for me.

Yeah relativity cheap furniture that doesn't look cheap. ;) Let's just hope they don't become the furniture version of Microsoft :p

@joseph0324

The store located in Amsterdam South-East is also huge, haven't visited the one near Haarlem but I guess it will be somewhat the same size. :)

The guy who owns Ikea is now the richest guy in the world so his already became the new Bill Gates. I think Ikea has become the new Microsoft but in the furniture sense of course.

Yeah I know, I bet he doesn't get his furniture from IKEA anymore

Wasn't that for a while only? Bill was still the richest guy last year according to the Guinness Book of Records. Anyway, the way I see Ikea is Apple for home furnishings, except Ikea stuff is extremely affordable.

Let's see... the only reason you would wanna use a Bittorrent is to pirate software, movies or music... why don't you simply quit stealing and go and buy it?  The hardware thread is not really a place to be asking such questions, nor is it a place to be giving responses...

haha are you a cop or something?!

    • Yeah, when I saw that, I wanted to find the nearest nose. You can't find a good nose these days when you need one.
    • Anthropic launches Claude Fable 5, a state-of-the-art AI model that beats OpenAI's GPT-5.5 by Pradeep Viswanathan Back in April, Anthropic announced Claude Mythos Preview, a frontier model with state-of-the-art coding capabilities. Due to the cybersecurity implications that would occur due to the availability of such a powerful model, Anthropic made it available to only a select set of companies around the world. The company's plan was to prepare appropriate guardrails before releasing such a powerful model to everyone. Now, after nearly two months, Anthropic announced Claude Fable 5, its most capable AI model yet for general users. The company also announced Claude Mythos 5, the same underlying model as Fable 5, but with safeguards lifted, making it more suitable for selected cybersecurity and biology use cases. Claude Fable 5 sits a tier above its Opus models and it beats most other generally available models across areas including software engineering, knowledge work, vision, scientific research, and long-running autonomous tasks. To prevent model misuse, when Claude Fable 5 detects certain requests related to cybersecurity, biology, chemistry, or model distillation, the request will be routed to the Claude Opus 4.8 model. Anthropic claims that these safeguards trigger in less than 5% of sessions on average. However, for large organizations working on critical software, Claude Mythos 5 can be availed through Project Glasswing. Later, Anthropic has plans to expand access through a broader trusted access program. As you can notice in the benchmarks above, Fable 5 and Mythos 5 are state-of-the-art on most key AI benchmarks and they are well ahead of OpenAI's frontier model, GPT-5.5. For example, Fable 5 is the new state-of-the-art model for vision tasks. Also, Mythos 5 has the strongest cybersecurity capabilities of any model in the world. Claude Fable 5 and Claude Mythos 5 are priced at $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens, which is less than half the price of Claude Mythos Preview. Another big change is that Anthropic is making a change to the way they handle business customer data for both Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models. The company will now require 30-day retention for all traffic on both first- and third-party surfaces. Anthropic promises that it won't use the data to train Claude models, instead it will use it against complex and novel attacks. Claude Fable 5 is available today on the Claude API and consumption-based Enterprise plans. It is also included at no extra cost for Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise customers from today through June 22. After that, users on those plans will need usage credits to continue using Fable 5, unless Anthropic extends the included access window based on capacity. Developers can access Fable 5 through the Claude API using the claude-fable-5 model name.
