What do the icons mean?

There is no post "NW" and ">" and there is post "NW" and ">". What do these mean?

Does the "NW" mean I have posted in that forum before?

Edit: I looked at the faq it it says this: (https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=78875)

Q. What do the bluw buttons on the Main forum page mean?

A. Dark Blue with white arrow = New Topics/Replies in that forum

Dark Blue with white NW =

Light blue with arrow =

Light blue with white NW =

bf_new.gif - This category does not have sub-categories, but has new posts or threads you haven't read yet.

bc_nonew.gif - This category has sub-categories, but no new posts or threads.

I know it's often easier to understand things when they are presented visually. Since we're talking about the same 4 icons we all see everyday, I thought it would be nice to put them in a post with an explanation next to them. That way, should anyone wonder, you can always direct them to the visual example.
